The main mast has been increased by nine feet and the mizzen by three. This means an almost 20% increase in potential upwind sail area and a 15% increase in downwind sail area.

Axia and her Owner were approached by the New York Yacht Club 2 weeks ago in order to see if she could be available as the Committee and Start boat for the race.

The regular starting boat from the US Coastguard was called down to the Gulf  as more assistance was needed in the clean up of the current oil crisis

There couldn’t have been a better way to start a Birthday celebration weekend for Peter and his friends!
